Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

With Universal Studios and Busch Gardens capturing the teen market for Halloween, Disney has opted for a far less frightening experience geared towards much younger park attendees. The event is called Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and is sure to scare no one. But then again, that’s the point. This year the event lasts 24 days and as always it is filled with lots of not so scary fun.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party allows children to dress up in costumes, collect candy, ride all the Disney rides and even meet Disney characters who are dressed for the occasion throughout the park. Fireworks occur at the end of every evening of the event and there is a specially themed parade called the Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade.

If children are planning to wear a costume, Disney requests that the costume not impair the child’s visibility or movement to help prevent any accidents and so the child can better take in the event. You must admit that it would not be fun for anyone if a costume prohibited the child from riding their favorite ride because the safety harness would not fit around your little Sponge Bob or perhaps they missed the whole parade because they were dressed as a venus fly trap. Because this event is catered to younger children, costumes should not scary.

This year’s Halloween Party occurs on the following dates:

• September 4, 11, 15, 18, 22, 25, 29
• October 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31
• November 1
